Odor in pit toilet was very strong but the room was clean. No running water but that was stated before hand. site was large and very well kept.

Black Canyon Campground offers a beautiful, well-maintained environment with clean facilities and friendly hosts, making it a favorite among visitors. Many enjoyed the peaceful setting, abundant wildlife, and proximity to Santa Fe, with ample hiking opportunities. However, the lack of water access and some maintenance issues have been noted as drawbacks.

The campsites are so beautiful and the host was very nice. Parking spaces are a little weird and slightly difficult to park in the dark because you have to back in and leaving you have to turn around it's weird but the sites are great. We did walk all the way up to the back of the campsite to do the trail but the sign at the trail said to wear orange because of hunters. We had the first site so it was a long walk just to get there and neither of us had orange because you don't expect hunting so close to a campsite that was very disappointing.
