Lake Powhatan offers a fantastic location near Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway, with well-maintained, private campsites and friendly staff. Campers appreciate the beautiful, serene environment and the variety of outdoor activities available, including hiking and biking trails. While some noted issues with the swimming area and occasional noise disturbances, overall, guests had a positive experience and expressed a desire to return.

I Had a tire blow on my camper, so I did need to stay an extra day. Your folks were very helpful and patient to get me back up and running.
My wife and I always tell everyone how wonderful LP is.

Great campground in Asheville. Very quiet, peaceful, sites spread out, bears were in the campground, and many places to visit nearby. Cell service is the only negative, but then was nice to not be attached to it during the stay.

One of the nicest national parks I've ever stayed at very large campsites well spaced apart stated a 30-ft RV

Campground is clean and hosts are present and active. Bath house was clean and hot water. Park is a bit steep and sites are a bit close but manageable if you are within the length restrictions. No typical bear proof dumpsters in known bear country, however the big dumpsters at various locations with chain wrapped around seem to be functional. It is a bit of a hike to the lake and water’s edge. But there is a large parking area that you can drive to to then walk a few steps down to the lake shore

Quick and easy check-in and staff were helpful. Our tent pad site on Hard Times Loops had a good gravel surface, parking area, and picnic table. We experienced several periods of very heavy rain while there and noticed our tent pad did not quickly drain and experienced some water pooling on one side. We noticed a few other campsites with some drainage issues too. Just a consideration for those in tents expecting hard rain. The bathrooms were clean. It would be nice to have an outside dump sink for cleaning dishes like many other campgrounds do. Thanks for having us!
