Wonderful camp ground. Lots of multipurpose trails and a beach. Close to town for supplies. Very quiet.

Lake Powhatan offers a fantastic location near Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway, with well-maintained, private campsites and friendly staff. Campers appreciate the beautiful, serene environment and the variety of outdoor activities available, including hiking and biking trails. While some noted issues with the swimming area and occasional noise disturbances, overall, guests had a positive experience and expressed a desire to return.

There are a lot of great hikes that you can walk to or a short drive from the campground. A walk around downtown Asheville is an experience on a (even slightly) warm weekend evening. There many good restaurants in Asheville.

Campsites were big, flat, and well-spaced for lots of privacy. Camp hosts were very friendly, and we were close to great trails in the higher mountains surrounding Asheville. Also, we were close to great restaurants and night-life in downtown Asheville. Bathrooms and showers were very clean and convenient.

as always a great place to go. Staff is excellent, facilities great too. My only disappointment was that this time there was a fire band so no campfires. Outstanding hiking and biking though!

The site was clean and easily accessible. Bathrooms and showers were in fair shape. There needs to be better pathways to the bathroom from the campsite. We had to walk through other campsites, which can be awkward. Only problem we encountered was a statewide burn ban and was not disclosed when placing reservations. Found out when we arrived. Campground would be better with a playground. Not much to do if you have little kids.
