Great park that had full hookups. We enjoyed hiking around the lake. We even had a turkey walk right thru our campsite.

Lake Powhatan offers a fantastic location near Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway, with well-maintained, private campsites and friendly staff. Campers appreciate the beautiful, serene environment and the variety of outdoor activities available, including hiking and biking trails. While some noted issues with the swimming area and occasional noise disturbances, overall, guests had a positive experience and expressed a desire to return.

Beautiful park. Sites are nicely separated. Staff was super friendly. It’s about an 20 minute drive into Asheville. Only disappointment was the lakeside loop was not anywhere close to the lake. I had pictured being able to see water from our site. It was about a 1/2 mi walk to the lake.
I would definitely stay here again.

Had a fantastic camping experience at Lake Powhatan Campground. The sites were clean, well-spaced, and surrounded by beautiful forest, which made it feel peaceful and private. The lake was perfect for relaxing, and the trails nearby were great for hiking and exploring. Facilities were well maintained, and the best part was warm showers. Overall atmosphere was calm and family-friendly. Definitely a great spot to unwind and enjoy nature — we’ll be coming back again.
