Lake Powhatan offers a fantastic location near Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway, with well-maintained, private campsites and friendly staff. Campers appreciate the beautiful, serene environment and the variety of outdoor activities available, including hiking and biking trails. While some noted issues with the swimming area and occasional noise disturbances, overall, guests had a positive experience and expressed a desire to return.

Great campground in Asheville. Very quiet, peaceful, sites spread out, bears were in the campground, and many places to visit nearby. Cell service is the only negative, but then was nice to not be attached to it during the stay.

I Had a tire blow on my camper, so I did need to stay an extra day. Your folks were very helpful and patient to get me back up and running.
My wife and I always tell everyone how wonderful LP is.

We were able to book a last minute spot after a full weekend. We checked in on Sunday afternoon to a mostly empty campground. It was quiet and shaded with a perfectly sized tent pad for our 11' tent. The park rangers were very friendly and helpful! It's a great place to camp if you are visiting Asheville, an easy 15 minute drive to downtown. A caveat: glad I brought a tent, because this spot would have been impossible for our pop up. "Tent only" spots here mean exactly that. I will be staying here again!

Beautiful spacious sites, generally pretty quiet. Well maintained restrooms. Easy trail access for pleasant hikes and dog walking. One of our favorites.
