Lake Powhatan offers a fantastic location near Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway, with well-maintained, private campsites and friendly staff. Campers appreciate the beautiful, serene environment and the variety of outdoor activities available, including hiking and biking trails. While some noted issues with the swimming area and occasional noise disturbances, overall, guests had a positive experience and expressed a desire to return.

Can’t say much. I got there late and left early. Site was clean and level and plenty of space between it and the neighboring sites.

Charming campground, I enjoyed my two night stay. Nearly all sites were in use. Site 44 was almost level and had full hookups. But I had a problem with the 30 amp power. Kept shutting down/halting my AC and cooling. At one time resetting the posts breaker, I noticed it was hot to the touch. Bathrooms were clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Lake side loop was not exactly lakeside. A path down to the lake was nearby. All but one parking space at the fishing pier were for handicap. A walk thru the woods from a separate parking lot was for the beach. Quiet and peaceful Campground. Sites were mostly secluded.

Overall, good camping site. No noise in spite of the garage bin in close proximity so it makes it a convenient stop for disposal. Also nearby the water spout as well. It is a sizeable site that allowed us to park two cars in addition to a camping setup with a large eight person tent and a two room privacy tent for shower and toilet. Very well shaded for summer too.
Our greatest issue was the heavy rainfall. Please do not set up your camp on the left size due to possible flooding. The right side near the garage bin is ideal. We were very fortunate in our setup placement. Even the picnic table area on the left side had high water pools.
Last note, cellular service is accessible here as well. You might be able to send or receive a text message a few times depending on your carrier.

We had a great time at the campground. Kids loved the swimming area (although a bit too shallow for an adult wanting to swim), and hiking trails directly outside the entrance. Camping sites and bathrooms are well maintained. The Naventure team does a great job overseeing their campgrounds.
