Lake Powhatan offers a fantastic location near Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway, with well-maintained, private campsites and friendly staff. Campers appreciate the beautiful, serene environment and the variety of outdoor activities available, including hiking and biking trails. While some noted issues with the swimming area and occasional noise disturbances, overall, guests had a positive experience and expressed a desire to return.

We have stayed at Lake Powhatan several times and it's always a great experience. All the staff we encountered were kind and helpful. The rest rooms and showers were always clean and stocked. We will definitely be back.

Very nice campground. Well maintained with a very clean bathhouse and a friendly staff. Easy to get to the campground with good signage off of the main road.

Only one fountain had running water. All the other ones did not. There is no water for purchase, just firewood and ice. Overall really lovely place!!
