I'm just back from another week at my favorite campground. The Mt. Pisgah campground is quiet and comfortable the bathrooms are clean and easily accessible.

Semi walk to, well maintained sites, clean comfort rooms with hot showers from heaven. Flowering trees and shrubs were everywhere, making the camp gorgeous and looking like a Fairytale village. Make sure you utilize the Bear boxes, Rangers are serious about keeping bears wild. The camp store has bathrooms a smoking area and is really well stocked with everything you'll need to have a successful camp or hike. The Blue Ridge Parkway runs between the campground and the Pisgah Inn, so you will get road noise. Bonus, there are at least 3 trails you can get to right from the campground. The mount pisca trailhead.

It would be great to have a dishwashing station and the restrooms could use a little attention. Otherwise, we had a great time and will definitely go back.

This was a beautiful and peaceful campground. It provides a great opportunity to unplug from cell phones and computers and enjoy the created Mountains.

This is a super excellent campground. The services are wonderful, and the park staff and Rangers are all friendly and professional. It is a safe, fun, and pleasant campground.

Mt. Pisgah is my favorite place on earth. The mountain views along the Blue Ridge Parkway are tonic for my soul.

B was an excellent loop. The person in the golf card was friendly and helpful. The park ranger was also. We were informed about parkway closure at NC151 on the Asheville side, and at Black Balsam Road on the other meaning US276 was the only other exit (we should have looked at the parkway website's page on parkway closures). The restrooms were clean. Other campers were friendly. It only rained one inch on one evening and 0.2 inches the other two. The campsite was clean when we arrived.
Check out time was noon and check in was 3pm. I don't understand why campers were coming in before noon and before 3 and setting up a campsite. Unless they were lost, I don't know why 40ft campers were driving around the B loop.

Reservable campsite D18, way at the back of the campground with the hope of a quiet weekend. This site was plenty big for for two. Level pad, slight drainage run next to the picnic table, lots of shade, not too buggy.
The rangers were lovely.

From Interstate 40 west, take exit 47 and turn south onto Highway 191. Stay in the right hand lane and turn south again onto the Blue Ridge Parkway at the North Carolina Arboretum; enjoy the amazing views and nine tunnels along the Blue Ridge Parkway for 15 miles (24 km). You will pass the Mt. Pisgah Parking Area, the Country Store and the Pisgah Inn on the left. The campground is on the right immediately after the Pisgah Inn.
From Waynesville, North Carolina, take Highway 276 for about 22 miles to The Blue Ridge Parkway. Turn north onto the parkway and continue four miles to the campground on the left.
Mount Pisgah Campground is accessible via Interstate 40, approximately 10 miles to the north, with access to Highway 191 leading south to the campground. Additionally, Highway 276 provides access to the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is the direct route to the campground.
Elevation: 1505 feet
23 mi drive to downtown Canton (about 37 min)
Policies & Rules
General
- Cell phone reception is minimal in this area.There are showers in Loop B and Loop C. Electric, water, or sewer hook-ups are not available per site.
- Vehicles are to be parked on the pavement of an assigned site or in designated parking areas. A maximum of two vehicles may be parked in each site (i.e. trailer and car, two cars, two motorcycles). Most sites are limited to one vehicle.
- CAUTION: Bears frequent the area. Be aware! You are required to keep a clean campsite and store all food or scented items in your car or provided food lockers. DO NOT HANG TRASH FROM THE LANTERN POST. All food, cooking utensils, coolers, drinks, any scented items and trash must be properly stored at all times. Food and scented items must be stored in a locked vehicle, camper or site storage locker. Never leave the campsite without properly storing food and scented items. All campers are responsible for proper storage of food and scented items while in the campground. Any violators may be fined or summoned to appear in court for improper storage of food and scented items. All campers are responsible for any violations at their campsite, vehicle, camper and/or site storage locker.
- Only one tent is allowed per site unless there is adequate space on the provided tent pad. No more than 6 people per campsite. Group Campsites are located at Doughton Park Campground and Rocky Knob Campground.
- All tents must be placed on prepared pads where provided.
- Hammock camping is permitted, but campers must abide by posted regulations.
- Generator use is prohibited.
- GPS and mapping devices may not provide accurate directions to Mt. Pisgah Campground.
- Firewood Regulation: Only heat-treated firewood bundled in its original packing and bearing a certification seal from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) or a state department of agriculture may be brought onto the Parkway. Campers may still collect dead and down wood in the immediate vicinity of campgrounds and picnic areas. This rule is strictly enforced!
- Don't Move Firewood: Help protect our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. Moving firewood is illegal in some states. Visit dontmovefirewood.org to learn more.
