Itโs amazing that every site has been updated with new gravel, fire rings, signage, and new gate. This is the very best secret in the national Forest what a place to spend a week a weekend a night๐๐thank you national forest workers๐

I was hesitant to book a camping trip over a holiday weekend but thought that with this campground being designed for horses and having pit toilets for facilities the chances of large families with unruly children would be small. I was wrong. It was far from a peaceful weekend and when everyone was asleep the amount of lights left on all night was ridiculous. While this would be a lovely place to stay, other campers made us scrap our last day and go home for the peace and quiet we were looking for in nature. Very relieved no one with horses had actually booked. I'm sure they would have been stressed from the constant screaming.

It was great to stay at Wolf Ward once again this spring, a big shout out to the caretakers with the national Forest service for the upkeep on the composting toilet, great job with the upkeep this year greatly appreciate it thank you. The wildlife was an abundance. The flowers were springing. The birds were singing. The sun was out. It was beautiful.โ๏ธ

Great horse campground. Has 1 to 2 bars for cell service. Vaulted toilets are clean. Tall fire rings and wide gravel parking for your rig. Nice Highlines for the horses.

The entire campground was very clean and well kept. Nice highlines for the horses! Will go back!

Small campground, bathrooms were clean and surprisingly didn't smell much for being the outhouse style. The only bad thing I can think of is our picnic table was very worn, needed replacing. The site next to use was empty so we ended up switching the tables.

Turn Right onto Yellow Gap Road (Forest Service Road 1206) - an unpaved, gravel road.
-Go 3.3 miles.
Turn Right onto South Mills River Road (Forest Service Road 475) - an unpaved, gravel road.
Wolf Ford Horse Camp will be immediately on your left.
From the South:
Turn onto 276 South.
-Go 18 miles.
Turn Left onto Yellow Gap Road (Forest Service Road 1206) - an unpaved, gravel road.
-Go 3.3 miles.
Turn Right onto South Mills River Road (Forest Service Road 475) - an unpaved, gravel road.
Wolf Ford Horse Camp will be immediately on your left.
