Another early June stay for the blur ghost fireflies. Our favorite campground on the BRP! Staff was great and weather was perfect.

My site, C19, was relatively private, even though the large central tree had died and been hauled away apart from a rotting stump; I had some beautiful mountain laurel blooming next to my tent pad, which provided some coverage between the pad and the site next to me. The camp hosts were also kind and helpful. There was no cell signal, which I appreciated-- you could walk to the Pisgah Inn from camp if you needed wifi.
However, unless I was staying for two nights or less, or had a camper with a wet bath, I probably won't return-- the bathroom facilities were lackluster. The entire campground had only two individual shower stalls for women, which didn't have locks, and the bathrooms never seemed to be cleaned; I was there for six nights and water was constantly over the entire floor of one shower house, while the other was completely out of soap and was never refilled. A lot of the tent sites were also quite close to each other-- I'm lucky and had some great neighbors, but if that weren't the case I would not have enjoyed my stay very much. The camp overall had amazing weather being so high up, and the stargazing at night was fabulous, but in general the bathroom situation cancelled out a lot of the positives. There was also a good bit of poison ivy growing around right by my food storage bin.

Our site was very private and beautifully maintained. The bear box at the site was big enough for the cooler and a week’s worth of food. We had many trails going out of the campground and within driving distance to hike on. During the week we took time off from hiking to enjoy Brevard and Asheville. The view from The Pisgah Inn, which was right there was stunning.

Stayed at both D18 and D25, and had such a relaxing and pleasant mountain adventure. Interacted with a few of the park rangers who were delightful. The campground is so clean and well maintained. Our first time tent camping with dogs, that was memorable and fun. Will be back and get D25 again if we get the opportunity!

Such a nice place to camp. I was with my son on a fishing trip. It is our 3rd time staying here and it's always great. We fished early until late in the evening. The campground is always quiet and clean. The weather is perfect in June with cool mornings and evenings. The location is excellent with the Pisgah Inn right across the road if you want to grab breakfast away from camp. It's also nice to have a general store on the parkway in case you forget to bring something. Oh, and there is hot water! I look forward to staying here every year.

Great campground with many hiking trails to explore. Most sites are not level, so kind of tough in an RV. Cell service can be spotty, you can hike up to the camp store or Pisgah Inn for decent coverage.

Great campround at elevation so stays cool compared to Davidson River. It does have a lot of hills, so if you have limited mobility it may not be ideal for you as getting to the bathrooms can be difficult and getting to our picnic table was up a hill, but not all campsites are like that, there's plenty that aren't. Be aware there is only one shower stall for men and women so especially if you are a woman, you may have a wait. Also, if you are disabled and camped far away there is no designated parking for the showers which you can work around but is not ideal. It is a nice campground with respectful campers. We were there two weeks as there is a lot of hiking even if you have limitations. Cradle of Discovery is fun and great picnic sites. The Pisgah Visitor Center is a must stop if you want accurate information and suggestions for things to do, the staff is VERY good at helping you. Beautiful views, highly recommend grabbing a couple camp chairs and having lunch at a turn out. The North Carolina Arboretum was absolutely lovely and we recommend a trip there. The forest does get crazy busy on weekends, popular spots are best left for weekdays.

From Interstate 40 west, take exit 47 and turn south onto Highway 191. Stay in the right hand lane and turn south again onto the Blue Ridge Parkway at the North Carolina Arboretum; enjoy the amazing views and nine tunnels along the Blue Ridge Parkway for 15 miles (24 km). You will pass the Mt. Pisgah Parking Area, the Country Store and the Pisgah Inn on the left. The campground is on the right immediately after the Pisgah Inn.
From Waynesville, North Carolina, take Highway 276 for about 22 miles to The Blue Ridge Parkway. Turn north onto the parkway and continue four miles to the campground on the left.
Mount Pisgah Campground is accessible via Interstate 40, approximately 10 miles to the north, with access to Highway 191 leading south to the campground. Additionally, Highway 276 provides access to the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is the direct route to the campground.

Policies & Rules
General
- Cell phone reception is minimal in this area.There are showers in Loop B and Loop C. Electric, water, or sewer hook-ups are not available per site.
- Vehicles are to be parked on the pavement of an assigned site or in designated parking areas. A maximum of two vehicles may be parked in each site (i.e. trailer and car, two cars, two motorcycles). Most sites are limited to one vehicle.
- CAUTION: Bears frequent the area. Be aware! You are required to keep a clean campsite and store all food or scented items in your car or provided food lockers. DO NOT HANG TRASH FROM THE LANTERN POST. All food, cooking utensils, coolers, drinks, any scented items and trash must be properly stored at all times. Food and scented items must be stored in a locked vehicle, camper or site storage locker. Never leave the campsite without properly storing food and scented items. All campers are responsible for proper storage of food and scented items while in the campground. Any violators may be fined or summoned to appear in court for improper storage of food and scented items. All campers are responsible for any violations at their campsite, vehicle, camper and/or site storage locker.
- Only one tent is allowed per site unless there is adequate space on the provided tent pad. No more than 6 people per campsite. Group Campsites are located at Doughton Park Campground and Rocky Knob Campground.
- All tents must be placed on prepared pads where provided.
- Hammock camping is permitted, but campers must abide by posted regulations.
- Generator use is prohibited.
- GPS and mapping devices may not provide accurate directions to Mt. Pisgah Campground.
- Firewood Regulation: Only heat-treated firewood bundled in its original packing and bearing a certification seal from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) or a state department of agriculture may be brought onto the Parkway. Campers may still collect dead and down wood in the immediate vicinity of campgrounds and picnic areas. This rule is strictly enforced!
- Don't Move Firewood: Help protect our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. Moving firewood is illegal in some states. Visit dontmovefirewood.org to learn more.
