About Cedar Point Campground

Cedar Point Campground and Recreation Area is located in eastern North Carolina at the junction of the White Oak River and the Bogue Sound, immediately adjacent to the Swansboro Inlet. It is within 1 mi of full service shopping, and within 2 mi of NC's Crystal Coast and the barrier island beach community of Bogue Banks. The campground is extremely busy and reservations are recommended but must be made 3 days in advance. Of the 36 campsites, 4 are considered first-come, first served campsites that cannot be reserved or held, so a person must physically be there with their camping equipment to purchase the campsite. Cedar Point campground has the option to use Scan & Pay system, but by the rules of recreation.gov it may only be used for first-come, first served sites. Please make sure to contact a campground host to ensure availability before paying for any campsite. Failure to check with the campground host for availability may result in the loss of your camping fee.

The sites were a nice size, but the bathrooms did not appear to be cleaned the whole time we were there. We had to bring our own toilet paper for the last 2 days. We did enjoy the hiking paths and how quiet the campground was.

Campground was great , it’s quiet, and clean and well maintained. Only issue was temperature of showers, too cold one day and then extremely hot the remainder of trip(almost too hot).

Renegade 38 ft w/Jeep. $30 per night. Site 1. Late July. Absolutely gorgeous sites. Ours was 50A only. Perfectly level & huge. Surrounded by tall trees. Road noise not noticeable. You wouldn't know you within city limits & walking distance to a Tractor Supply.Wonderful stay. We camped at Cedar Point Campground in a Motorhome.

(Wife Kaylee actually left these reviews) We stayed on Sites 7 and 11 during our visit, and both were spacious, wooded, and offered plenty of privacy. We had more than enough room for our camper and truly enjoyed the peaceful surroundings.
We had a wonderful vacation despite experiencing some major, life-altering personal events while we were there. Through it all, the campground staff showed incredible kindness and compassion, making a difficult situation much easier to navigate.
The location couldn’t have been better, the hosts were exceptional, and the facilities were clean and well-maintained. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Cedar Point Campground (and the near by hospital in Moorehead )to anyone looking for a beautiful place to camp with genuinely caring people.

We had a wonderful stay at Cedar Point Campground. Our campsite was easy to level, the water spigot was conveniently located nearby, and we appreciated having a fire ring and lantern hanger at the site. The bathhouse was very clean, and the hot showers had excellent water pressure, which was a nice bonus after long days exploring the area.
This trip became one we’ll never forget. We came to North Carolina because our grandson was born just over a week ago. We were supposed to check out yesterday morning, and we got up at 5:30 a.m. to pack up for the trip home. As we were getting ready to leave, my husband suddenly began having severe chest pain.
My daughter ran to the camp host’s residence and woke them to let them know what was happening. We rushed to the hospital, where we learned my husband had a 90% blockage in one of the arteries of his heart. Thankfully, he received the care he needed.
Because my husband is the one who hooks up our camper, empties the tanks, and drives our truck, we had no way to move our camper or vacate our site. We knew another family was scheduled to arrive that day, so we were extremely worried. My daughter called the ranger station to explain our situation.
Before long, the camp host reached out to reassure us not to worry. She had taken care of everything and continued checking on us throughout our hospital stay to make sure we didn’t need anything. That level of kindness, compassion, and understanding meant more to us than words can express during such a frightening time.
We will forever hold Cedar Point Campground close to our hearts—not only because it’s a beautiful place to camp, but because of the incredible people who work there. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for treating us like family when we needed it most. We will never forget your kindness, and we look forward to returning under much happier circumstances.

The campsite was very quiet, but the bath houses need some upgrades and modernization as to the RV sites. It would be nice to have sewer and water at your site. We ran out of water in our RV, not knowing how long it would last new experience for us.

We love this campground. The people are nice. The spaces are large with picnic table and fire pit. Some spaces are in the shade and some are in the sun. It depends on what you like. The spaces are electric only. Potable water is available as well as dump tank for sewer. Campground is quiet and great place for bike riding. It is close to a wonderful nature trail and White Oak River where you can fish or kayak. The best part about this campground is the nightly rate cannot be beat.
