Grass around campsites were knee high. Dump station water fixtures have been broken for months. Host were on there toes concerning generators. Stayed here for years and will be back.

Excellent location to reach excellent hikes and waterfalls in the park around Newfound Gap area, as well as quick access to both Cherokee and Bryson City, which we prefer over Gatlinburg which is often crowded and too "touristy" for our liking.

We enjoyed a two night stay at Smokemont with our travel trailer. It’s a beautiful campground with some really nice trails right on site. Our dog loved being there, there were clean restrooms and the campground staff and host were top notch. Will definitely stay again!

There is no way to obtain a site at the campground. You must go into Cherokee and make a reservation and pay on line. A star link at the ranger station would help in emergency situations and could be used to do on site reservations/payment.

Excellent time. No hook ups but cooled off in the creek and never got that hot for June. Everything was great and the bathhouse was okay but I dont believe it was cleaned once during the 4 days we were there.

Peaceful and quiet!! The sites in C loop were a little close to each other for comfort, but the sites in B loop were well enough spaced. My site had some wonderful trees to use a hammock, and you could hear the river at night. The bathrooms were also fairly clean, and close without being "too" close. I also saw elk on the first morning! Cell service was nonexistent, but as long as you expect that you'll be okay. The only reason I don't give it a full 5 stars is because it'd be nice to have a shower if you're staying there past two nights. Nonetheless, I will gladly return and would pick this site again! The staff were also extremely helpful and polite.

Volunteer staff was very friendly and helpful.
Restrooms were clean and well maintained.
Grass needed mowing and was cause for healthy bug population at night.

F loop in 30 ft RV. Boondocking. Some folks just don't knoelw how to do this. Folks next to us ran generator the whole time. Kind of ruined the whole Smoky Mtn boondocking experience.
