Smokemont Campground is praised for its beautiful, wooded setting, peaceful atmosphere, and proximity to hiking trails and nearby attractions. Very clean and very well taken care of campground. If RVing keep in mind generators can only run between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm. Warm at night but cool in the morning. Surrounding area is beautiful.

LOve this campground!! The river is so close to so many of the sites!! Hearing the water flowing all night long is heavenly. And if you do not see any elk in the campground, you can jump in the car every morning and go find them easily!!

Nice community, wood and ice were accessible, not far from Cherokee, with the Bradly fork being right there it was relaxing listening to the water.

Very relaxing trip. Beautiful setting. Quiet and peaceful. I always prefer full hookups, but this setting makes the sacrifice worth it. The fireflies put on a great show. Loved the walk to the old church on the hill. (Lufty Baptist Church).

The campground was very nice, spots 44 and 45 were ok, but don't think we would stay in those in the future. There was quite a bit of traffic and not much privacy.

Enjoyed walking up to cemetery on site. Would enjoy one trail into the woods at the site dogs could go on. (Had to drive to Oconoluftee River trail.) Miss having night Ranger led programs at site. Have been coming to Smokemont since late 70’s and for years found the Ranger led programs so educational and informative for families.

Great campground and wonderful staff in a beautiful setting. I will definitely visit again, but a downside is that the narrow valley traps campfire smoke at night. (I know, that's the name.) I spent one miserable night bathed in acrid campfire smoke. I love campfires, but perhaps they should not be allowed at this site. Again, this is a beautiful site in a fantastic national park.
