A lovely campground right next to the river. We'll laid out and clean. I would definitely camp there again.

Wonderful campground with lovely trails connected. Our camp host Richard was a hoot. Friendly, helpful, and funny.

Lovely campground! Easy, friendly check in. Clean grounds and restrooms. Only wish I had paid attention to the generator allowance, I would have book in the quieter areas. Smokey Mountains are such a treasure! We saw 2 elk and the tiger swallowtails were in full force.

Great campground, very close to Cherokee, NC. Got to see tons of elk just minutes down the road outside the Okmulgee visitor center!!

It was way too crowded. I don’t think hiking in a hoard constitutes being submerged in nature. There needs to be a way to put limits on how many people are in the park at a given time. People drive too fast through the park endangering wildlife and people. People tailgated, passed when they shouldn’t have, honked and flipped us off for going the speed limit. I’ve been going to this park since my childhood and it gets worse every time I go. Too many disrespectful people that have no business being there.

Great campsite. Several different loop options to choose from based on whether you're in a tent or RV. Appreciate that as a rooftop tent camper as we sometimes get lumped into RV sections. Bathrooms were clean with a dishwashing sink outside. No showers. Great trails around the site. Even had a morning elk sighting.

We had an enjoyable stay in loop A. The camp spots have decent spacing between them and we were fortunate that the campground was not very full. There is no cell coverage and the campground is fully in the forest, so finding clear sky for Starlink was a challenge. The bathroom facilities were typical functional campground bathrooms.
Overall, it is in a nice area with a very short drive to Cherokee and an easy drive up to Newfound Gap and the trails there.

Our site was right on the water. The sound of the water all night and day was so peaceful. The campground is flat making it easy for walking and bike riding. Nice hikes near bye. Saw elk in the fields in the morning and the evening. Definitely will be returning.
