Smokemont Campground is praised for its beautiful, wooded setting, peaceful atmosphere, and proximity to hiking trails and nearby attractions. Unfortunately, one of the trees we needed to put up two hammocks has been cut down, so we had to put our hammocks closer to our neighbor (who was already close) than we would prefer. The tent pad for this site is close enough the site next door that we heard our neighbors snoring in their tent. These two things were not ideal, but we love camping at Smokemont and will continue to come here multiple times a year.

The tent pads are gravel and help the rain drain away from the tent. The only with this campground is that there are no showers.

Beautiful setting and loved having hiking trails from the campground. My boys loved playing in the creek with other kids at the campground. Well maintained and bathrooms were exceptionally clean.
