Decent campsite, decent restrooms. Very basic, only cold showers which is to be expected. No Frills getaway on Hatteras.

Very spacious and quite campground. Every campground has an installed coal barbeque grill. I had a tent and a car. Campsite was sandy, spacious and had shadow as well as sun. Great star view at Nights . Very close to the and in the shores. Showers are in nature with no hot water , but it heats up little bit up during the day, I Loved it.

We've come to Frisco Campground a couple of times and really enjoy how close to the beach these sites are! Some of the sites are pretty open so make sure you choose carefully if you don't want to be too close to neighboors; I'd highly recommend P026 or P038 for a bit of privacy. The bathrooms have always been in great shape as well.
When we stayed in April 2023 there were a lot of ticks in the back area of our campsite (P026) so we had to stay clear of that area, but otherwise, it was an amazing stay!

We really enjoyed our time at the Frisco campground. It is so isolated and close to nature, and it is very relaxing.

Awesome campsite. Ran solar and it kept both batteries up. It is a long boardwalk to the beach definitely not handicap accessible. Sites are short but worked well for our 21' camping trailer and truck. Neighbors ran loudest generator on earth but Ranger came to tell them it was quiet hour and to shut it off. No lights meant awesome stargazing. When you dump you do have to drive north to other NPS campground. Enjoyed minimalist existence for three nights. We will definitely be back!

I have been visiting Frisco Campground since I was first able to drive circa 1990. I have a great deal of respect and love for this park. I was disappointed during this trip, one in the fact that there does not appear to be a NPS Ranger on duty on the campground anymore, and two because of the unnecessary closure of the campground due to a minor tropical storm that brought no more than 40 mph winds and a few inches of rain. One of the campground hosts seemed particularly fed up with her duties, was not friendly, and failed to be consistent when enforcing campground rules. Please bring back qualified rangers to the campground. Additionally, we were there in part as an educational experience for our third grader and he was not able to participate in the junior ranger program at the campground because there was not ranger on duty.
