What Guests Are Saying
Great Island Cabin Camp offers a peaceful and beautiful vacation spot with pristine beaches and a rustic charm. Many guests appreciated the comfortable cabins, helpful staff, and the serene environment, making it a favorite destination for repeat visitors. The cabin was wonderful after a 12 mi paddle. So great to have running water, flush toilet, and shower after a long paddle. The beach and inner coastal area's were superb. What a wonderful place to visit.

Cabin/site is great. A volunteer threatened one of our guests with arrest over a reservation confusion. This is the second time in as many trips we’ve been threatened with arrest.

Cabin/site is great. A volunteer threatened one of our guests with arrest over some confusion about a reservation. This is the second time in as many trips we’ve been threatened with arrest. Take it down a notch.

Our ninth year visiting Cape Lookout was another success! The winds were manageable and strong enough to keep the insects in control. The cabin was in good shape other than a couple tears in some window screens. The staff was helpful as always.

My family and friends had an exceptional time at the cabins!! Even in August, with the heat! Check-in was easy, and the cabin bunks were super comfortable. It was great to have a grill and stove for cooking too!

This was my family’s 12th year visiting the island. We always stay a week. We love everything about the island. Every year the staff has been amazing, except this year. The staff was very rude and very off-putting. Considering it’s a volunteering position, if you don't enjoy your job, quit. I hope next year the staff is more pleasent.

- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee.
