My husband and I had a wonderful stay at North Mills! It was our first time camping in almost 20 years! Though the campground was busy, it was a peaceful getaway. It was nice to unplug for the weekend, so not having cell service was actually a blessing! It is not too far from Ingles grocery store for things you may have forgotten, but out of the way so you don't have to worry about traffic noise and crowds. The campsites were well spaced apart. There was a nice path to walk alongside the river. There were many people trout fishing so we enjoyed taking time to watch them. Keith and Diana, the camp hosts, were wonderful! Drifting off to the sound of the river was bliss! We liked it so much, we've already reserved and are looking forward to spending another weekend soon!

Bathrooms and showers were clean with hot water, and camping sites were quiet and secluded. Also close by to excellent hikes on the Parkway, in Pisgah National Forest, and in Dupont State Recreation Area. Just bring a hammer to pound in tent stakes because the tent platforms are dense.
