Loved it !!! Beachside living, very clean and always quiet. Bathrooms and showers very close and ADA accessible . Had a great time on the beach by ourselves !!!!

Great location. Exceptional due to the unusual for national parks service of electric and water at the site. Direct beach access behind the site with trails over the dones to the Atlantic Ocean. The C loop has paved outside and inside spots around the loop. Fabulous beaches of the OBX. Clean restrooms with separate showers to include hot water water. Filtered water machine adjacent. Very clean. Hosts diligent and friendly. Check in and out was a breeze. Dump station located across the highway at Oregon Inlet Fishing marina towards the back of parking lot.

The outside showers were really cold - maybe in the summer it would be nice. Roads very narrow for trucks backing in larger campers. Traffic on the main artery was pretty loud all night. A walk to the beach was rough - definitely more appropriate for 4 wheel drive vehicles to access the beach. We enjoyed the rest of the outer banks - Jennette's Pier was wonderful!

As always wind with open showers. This may be acceptable above 60 deg. but not below. Close in the shower houses.

Great location next to the beach. Restrooms were cleaned regularly. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay there. We will come back.

Nice place to camp, but sites are very short. Also the campground was without power for 8 hours, must be a common issue because the host had a generator next to camper. Will for sure return again.

This was our third year staying at Oregon Inlet. The bathrooms were extremely clean and overall a well kept facility. It’s proximity to the Wright Brothers Museum, Bodie lighthouse, Kitty Hawk, and Nags Head make it an ideal camping location. Above all the endless deserted beaches make this our primary late spring retreat destination.

Loved the campsite in C loop with electric and water hookup. Bathrooms were nice. Paths to the beach were a bit long to carry stuff to the beach though but beach was great. Camp hosts were very nice. Campground was close to town of Nags Head if you wanted to hit restaurants and groceries.

North (From Richmond, VA)
Follow I-95 South to Richmond, VA. Take I-64 East toward Norfolk/Virginia Beach, VA. Take I-64 or I-664 to Chesapeake, VA. From I-64, take Exit 291B to Route 168, the Chesapeake Expressway (a toll-road costing $3.00- $6.00 each way). Once in North Carolina, Route 168 turns into US-158 East. Follow US-158 East through Nags Head, NC to the junction of NC-12 South. Continue on NC-12 South, and the campground will be on your left just before you reach Bonner Bridge over Oregon Inlet.
West (From Rocky Mount, NC)
Follow US-64 East through Tarboro, Williamston, Plymouth, Columbia, and Manteo, crossing the Alligator River Bridge and the Virginia Dare Bridge. Keep going on US-64 East to Nags Head, NC, going over the Washington Baum Bridge, to the junction of NC-12 South. Turn right onto NC-12 South and you will be at the north entrance. Continue on NC-12 South, and the campground will be on your left just before you reach Bonner Bridge over Oregon Inlet.
South (From Florence, SC)
Take I-95 North to Wilson, NC. Take US-264 East through Greenville, NC and Washington, NC. From Washington, NC, take US-17 to Williamston and follow US-64 East to Nags Head, NC and the junction of NC-12 South. Continue on NC-12 South, and the campground will be on your left just before you reach Bonner Bridge over Oregon Inlet.
Oregon Inlet Campground is accessible via NC-12 South, which connects to US-158 East and is reached from I-64 and US-64. US-64 provides access from the west, while US-158 serves as a primary route from the north and east.

Policies & Rules
General
- All campsites are exposed and subject to weather extremes. There are no shaded sites in the campground.
- Camping is limited to a total of 14 days of camping between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Making reservations under another name or account to circumvent the 14 day restriction is prohibited.
- Generators must be turned off during quiet hours.
- Wood fires are not permitted in the campground. Only charcoal cooking fires are permitted in a grill, stove, or other self-contained unit.
- A fire may be ignited and maintained only by using fuel sources designed and commonly used for warmth or the preparation of food, such as charcoal briquettes or natural firewood. Lighting or maintaining a fire with other materials including, but not limited to, flammable liquids, garbage, fireworks, plastics, aerosol canisters, batteries, or other manufactured or synthetic materials, is prohibited.
- All equipment must fit on the site pad; large RVs over 25 feet may have to park second vehicles in auxiliary parking away from the campground, or purchase an additional campsite. Vehicles cannot park on the grass.
- Biting insects are prevalent in the summer months, therefore netting and repellent are recommended.
- There is a limit of 6 persons per site, a maximum of 2 cars, or 1 car and 1 trailer, and a maximum of two tents.
- The Access Pass and both the Senior Annual and Senior Lifetime Pass are the only passes that provide a discount on the fee for the campsite physically occupied by the pass owner, not to any additional campsite(s) occupied by members of the pass owner's party. The discount does not apply to utility hookups. The pass discount must be applied at the time of the reservation; it cannot be applied retroactively.
