What Guests Are Saying
Curtis Creek Campground offers a clean and well-maintained environment with friendly hosts and beautiful surroundings, including access to a lovely creek and hiking trails. Many campers appreciated the updates made after Hurricane Helene, such as new tent pads, fire pits, and improved facilities. While some sites may have limited access or odor issues from pit toilets, overall experiences are positive, and many visitors express a desire to return.

This campsite was beautiful! We only used one of the hiking trails immediately next to the grounds and drove on another day to go to Graybeard Trail. There was running water, bathrooms, and the sites were very neatly kept with a fire pit/grate over it. The sites in the 20s (20-24 I think) have little to no privacy but that wasn’t an issue at night/ it was nice to talk to the other campers! I would definitely go back. No phone coverage no problem.

Very nice small campground and the hosts were very helpful. I would camp here again. Several hiking trails and lots of bike riders.

Wonderful campground with hiking and an amazing creek. Kiln firewood isn't available nearby so stop a few stops back before arriving.

I decided to try this campground after reviewing the location and ease of getting to hiking trials within walking distance. Great hiking for the camp site! The tent sites are more secluded than the RV sites, I use my camper shell as my shelter, but the campground was only 25% filled (mid-April Week day) during the 2 days I was there. No issues with the bathroom, it was clean and well stocked. Don't expect any frills at this campground, but if you want a to get away into the woods its worth the 10 miles off I-40. I plan to go back and use this campground as a home base to discover hiking around Black Mountain & Montreat NC.

We absolutely LOVED Curtis Creek! Sites 13 and 14 gave us lots of privacy, prime access to the beautiful creek, and close proximity to water and toilet facilities. The vault toilets were cleaner than most public restrooms. We didn't catch any fish, but had a great time splashing around in the freezing cold water. We had a really fantastic stay!
