The campground is very nice. The beach well that was a bust. No access … so no beach for Flanners Beach. The bath house was okay the bathrooms needed more butt wipes , the showers we okay.
The sites were nice and secluded and level.

Very quiet campground that was well shaded. Facilities were taken care of but needed a little care (light bulb needed in women's restroom. It would also be nice to have access to the beach.

This little campground is wonderful but could be an absolute gem if the beach access was repaired and open for the public to safely enjoy. It has been almost 6 years since the damage from Hurricane Florence occurred. Why has the area not been repaired and opened? Surely there was disaster money available. Will it ever be restored?

The camp site was beautiful and in a good location. Not far from Cherry Point and the Crystal Coast. Also close to New Bern.

Quiet, very pretty campground. Sites are well maintained.
Many beautiful trails in the Croatan Forest to be enjoyed, even for the physically challenged. Can't wait to come back and enjoy them again.

Easy to access the site. Very wide driveway. Access to the narrow beach on the river is closed due to damage from a hurricane in 2018, but it appears to be for safety reasons. It looks like it's more than just clearing a path, rebuilding some stairs or something. Bath house was well maintained and kept very clean. While there's no water at the sites, the fill station was very easily accessible.

This was my third stay in eight months. I will stay here again. The good: Abundant trees and flora provide much appreciated shade and reasonable privacy. On each of my last two trips I've seen additions and improvements, e.g., new water hydrants and added site gravel (much appreciated during heavy rain). I also was told that the Neuse River/Fanner's beach access is FINALLY going to be improved and REOPENED later this year! The bad: During my stay, of the three shower stalls: one had a clogged drain and was not usable and one practically had no water pressure. Full disclosure: I showered there only on my last night and I left the park at 0730 the following morning so I did not report this directly to the park hosts.
