The privacy at Flanners is perfect. It was a great stay to escape the hustle & bustle of the real world. The host family is awesome & very accommodating.
This is hands down my favorite spot

This is a quiet and lovely place with spacious sites and clean bathroom/shower facilities. Two hosts on site. Beach is still closed years after Hurricane Florence, but has a nice day use picnic area and walking/biking trails. The government needs to invest in restoring the beach and erosion control. Close to New Bern and Havelock for modern conveniences. Would have given five stars except for the beach closure and the groundskeeper was rude and aggressive about flagging down and yelling at cars he felt were exceeding the speed limit on his "watch." Some were clearly not exceeding the limit. Although I certainly understand the vigilance and the need to enforce rules, as a lady camping alone this aggressiveness made me uncomfortable. The nastiness is completely unnecessary and if speeding is such an issue, be proactive and encourage the NPS to install speed bumps instead of cursing and screaming at guests. Hosts should be approachable and a resource, and proactive and positive in enforcing rules. Sarcasm and rudeness should NEVER be tolerated, and gets most people fired from their jobs. Please check the Google reviews for this campground - the rudeness of the hosts here is notorious and needs to be addressed.

The park was nice but it would have been nice to be able to go on the beach. I know funds are tight but open part of the beach would have been great. The ladies that took over the bathroom shelter where we couldn't get into the facility was a little much.

Check in was easy and the Host was very nice. Nice to see that the park side was open, but wish we could go to the beach.

We enjoyed the trails and the privacy of the campsites! Bathrooms are clean! Only wish would be an outside dishwashing station with hot water near bathhouse!

Lovely place. Small, quiet, private campsites, nice clean bath house. Hosts were exceptional.... helpful, friendly. They quickly identified a maintenance issue during our visit, working hard to resolve. The regional Croatan National Forest staff needs to step up on their side; restrooms near tent area have been out of service for several years.

Easy check in process. Clean bathrooms. Overall an excellent experience even if the beach access is closed. If you expect full hookups and all the fixins...you need to go elsewhere and leave this little slice of heaven for the rest of us.
