Campground is very nice. Lots of trails to hike and bike. The lack of beach access is disappointing. A staircase to the beach instead of a fence blocking it would be nice.

Great place. Wish we could get all the trials cleared out. Other than that. It’s beautiful there. And lovely management.

We stayed for two nights, Friday and Saturday after Veterans Day.. Weather was chilly but nice. Campsites aren't very deep and are fairly close together. There are a lot of trees but the sites are so close together there isn't a lot of privacy. The majority of people there had campers, I'd say at least 3/4. The rest were tents. There were a few empty sites but the campground was fairly full. The beach trail and access are still closed from hurricane damage. The "trail" is actually a paved walking path, wide enough for bicycles if you wanted to. If you're looking for a "hiking" trail, this isn't it, but good for small kids, strollers, or those with disabilities. The older bathroom at one end of the campground is closed and locked, so there is one newer bathroom/bathhouse at the other end of the campground. One urinal and one stall in the bathroom and private individual showers. Bathrooms were clean. There aren't a lot of things to do nearby unless you go into Morehead City, about a 15 minute drive. If you're staying at the campground to just hang out and get some peace and quiet, this may not be a good place to do that.

Great campground hosts. Nice clean campsites. Very clean bathrooms. Other campers were courteous. Close to New Bern. Truly enjoyed the stay. Will come again.

It was a nice, quiet, clean campground. As others have described, the check-in process is a no-contact text at the gate. I received a text back with instructions and maps. It wasn't a problem. There is a nice paved trail that loops around the campground and also a few single-track trails. The "Flanners Beach and Croatan National Forest Loop," trail became pretty over-grown near the water and we couldn't find the continuation of the trail. I would stay again.

The sites and facilities were well maintained and clean. I enjoyed walking through the area and spending time in the picnic section--enjoying the sunshine. Meeting other campers staying nearby was also a pleasure.

Beautiful place, quiet, clean, considerate. We just dry camped and were so comfortable here. It is close to sever towns and the beach. Beautiful beaches in NC. This was our first visit and we will definitely book to stay here again. Loved it!! Thank you!
