Nice campground with large campsites and plenty of room between the sites. The campground was full but didn’t feel crowded.

Very clean campground, sites are large and accommodating, some with electric but no water or sewer hookup, so must fill your tanks with water and dump your tanks when you leave. Picnic area and the beach area was closed off because of damage from hurricane Florence till about March 2022. There are some nice paved trails around campground surrounding area.

We had a very good time and walked the trails. Only bad thing I have to say is the day use area and beach access area were closed off.

Beautiful, clean site. Gracious host. gorgeous views about 100 meters from campsites. nice, short, paved walking trails and mountain bike paths. electricity was a bit surgy, (bring surge protector). spanish moss was present.

Very good overall: plenty of space within and between campsites, mostly level sites, hospitable host, good trails, good views of the river (even if beach access is closed), clean restroom. The only nit to pick is with the showers. Hot water, yes, but not a heated shower stall. Fortunately we had a near 60 degree day in late December on which to shower, but even then it was chilly stepping out of the hot water.

As others had said, the beach is no longer accessible. There are still lovely trails and nice views.
It's interesting to see all the trees that were blown down in the hurricane and the new growth that is coming up.
The campsites were very clean.
I only use the bathroom once and everything in it was wet like the entire room had just been hosed down. Even the toilet paper was wet. Maybe I just got there at the wrong time.

We enjoyed our two night stay. Bobby the camp host was very nice and helpful. It was very cold those nights but we were comfortable. The bath house was clean and warm. Everything went well.

Our site was level and most sites seemed to be level as well. Very nice, no need for blocks. The site aren't very far apart but the vegetation between site gives you the feeling of separation and privacy. Most of the sites are sandy with a little gravel here and there and that sand tracks everywhere. Some gravel on the sites would go a long way. We were there the first of December and the bath houses weren't heated. There was a heater in the men's bathroom, don't know about the women's, but the ends of the building were open so it served no purpose. The men's shower didn't have a heater so we showered in our RV, which wasn't the plan. But all in all it was a nice park and the camp host was very nice and helpful.

The trails need to be improved, got back into the woods and the trail just disappeared. We enjoy hiking. The camp ground is well maintained, clean and Bobby and Jancie are very nice. Will be back again.
