Very nice campground with beautiful view of the water. Sites are generous size and many are shaded. Bathhouse is a bit dated but adequate.

The campground watermain broke three weeks prior to my reservation. All the bathrooms were closed. No porta potties onsite. No one posted the issue on the recreation.gov website. No one knows when the watermain is going to get fixed. The biologist and the Engineer employed for the Croaton NF were let go. So lack of personnel. Otherwise, the beach was beautiful….

No warning on the Recreation.gov site that there would be no water and no working toilets or showers anywhere on the site. The campsite host was friendly but said she had no control over the the situation. The Croatan National Forest park office was closed and not answering phones. The campsite manager took our name and said she would try to get a refund processed. We left and stayed in a hotel.

No working showers. Sign on the door by the campsite manager saying they were trying to get them working.

Very quiet in off season. Some leveling required at our site.

Our first visit to Flanners Beach CG. We will be back. We spent a week here, and the campground was pretty quiet the whole time. The campsites are private. Plenty of walking trails through some beautiful coastal forest land, which is what we like. Just a few miles north of the campground is where you will find B&J Seafood, which we highly recommend.

A nice little campground with a mix of open and shaded sites. Most RV sites will accommodate big rigs to 40ft. A few walking trails and visitors center nearby. New Bern (12miles north) and Havelock (10miles south) offer grocery stores, restaurants, shopping and supplies. Sites are gravel, fairly level and fairly private. Only 30/50 electric at sites but a couple of community spigots with drinking water available. Cell coverage can be a little spotty but I've generally gotten a reliable and sufficiently strong enough signal to work remote, including video calls.
