The location is fantastic! The campsite is well-maintained and the amenities are perfect given the proximity to the beach. I'll be reservations for next year. The village of Ocracoke is also quite special!

Always a 5 star rating for the Ocracoke state campground. Would be awesome if they ran power in the a,b & c section like there has been rumors for several years now. Been going there for 38 years now. Love it.

The beaches are wonderful. The maintenance staff are on top of the many responsibilities that are at this campground. I really enjoyed the time spent here.

Great open spacious spot, very breezy. Close to bathroom but without any unpleasant smell or noise. AT&T would have signal but unfortunately, mint doesn't.

As our stay lengthened at the campground it became more and more crowded. Granted this was the week of the 4th of july so we knew it would be busy but it literally became chaotic when multiple campsites had multiple tents scattered everywhere. They weren't restricted to their site but were In the woods, the grassy common areas, everywhere. I thought there was a restriction on how many campers per lot but if there is it certainly wasn't enforced. The bathrooms were really bad and couldn't handle the amount of people. They were cooking with wood on the grills and disposing of their paper plates and such in the trash cans in the bathrooms. It was a mess. Plus, the way they were camped you were cutoff from being able to walk to the closest bathroom but had to go a long way around. Then when you got there you had to hope there was toilet paper. I feel like the park service didn't handle this situation well at all and to be honest we didn't feel safe and cut our stay short by one night because of the out of control atmosphere. We've stayed there in the past and certainly plan to on the future because we enjoy coming to Ocracoke but there needs to be better planning our at least enforcement of the rules for someone to feel safe.
