I believe the campsites not being used should be better regulated. Had to move for one night. No one was there. What is the plan for hot showers in the future? I believe most campers would pay for hot showers!!!

Great access to the beach. Level sites that are easy to access. No services other than a dump station. The campground is flat with some vegetation. Sites feel private. Very clean. Cold showers. Easy to bike into Ocracoke.

I have a camper that operates entirely on solar. While I was camped there the level of the batteries charged by the solar array fell below a required minimum. Correcting the problem required a brief charge from a source of "shore power." There was none to be found anywhere on the campground. I even asked the hosts who said they weren't able to provide some for even the few minutes that would have resolved the problem. As a result I had to pack up and leave early.
I doubt that I will be the only person who finds himself in this situation. This campground would have gotten five stars from me if I had been able to gain access to shore power for a brief period of time measured in minutes.

Stayed off-season (Nov) but on a holiday weekend. Still plenty of open spots. Spot C3 was great! 31’ total length travel trailer backed all the way up to the curb left me enough room to barely park the truck across the front of the site and still be inside the lines (within 6-8” of not having enough room).
Access trail to the beach right behind the site. Beach was nearly empty all Veterans Day weekend. Temps 40s-60s. No mosquitoes at this time of year.
Dump site (across street from main entrance) was well maintained. One potable water spigot and one non-potable (with threaded end for tank flush) available.
Only “downer”: Grass in the site and sand in the dune atea are full of sand spurs/sticker burrs so watch out for bare feet and paws. Beach didn’t have them.
