It was my first time camping, but everyone was wonderful and so was the campsite!

Great location. Clean site and bathrooms. Dump station was solid. Right time of the year—cool nights few bugs.
Need to allow solo type stoves for fires at campsites.

Beautiful, spacious and close to beach. We stayed one night in early November. It was warmer than normal I think and the mosquitos showed up in the morning - our site was near brush. Best part was sky gazing at night with almost total darkness. We took our truck and trailer on the ferry from Hatteras(free). Then caught the Cedar Island Ferry to mainland ($45).

Nice campground in great location. Well kept, but no hot showers. Oregon Inlet has showers, so Ocracoke needs to get them.

I am leery of writing a positive review because then Ocracoke Campground will be overrun, overbooked, and over for me. There are three reasons to come to Ocracoke. 1) You are from there or have family there 2) you are a fisherman 3) you want to peace and privacy on a sparsely populated barrier island. Ocracoke Campground is superbly maintained and definitely facilitates numbers 2 and 3 above.

Beautiful campground, a close walk to the beach, dark sky at night. About three miles from town and there's a bike path as well as a paved road. Good restaurants, a great coffee shop, a unique destination.

Had a great time. The campground was very clean and staff very nice. Just wish the showers had warmer water. lol. I will be back next year.

One of my main critiques is if the site is level and ours was. Access was easy and the location close to the water enable us to get magnificent views and pictures of the sunrise.

I think this is the best campsite of them all for space, shade, beach access, and privacy. The weather was unusually great. We came in the beginning of November and the mosquitos were still out in droves at dusk. Insect repellant only sort-of worked - we used Deep Woods Off. The dampness was another consideration. It was as if it was raining. Cell phone reception was good with Verizon.
