The campground is a beautiful spot right next to the ocean. It's perfect for a late night beach walk and should make it easy on beachgoers, particularly those with out an off-road vehicle. Be very careful with dogs or kids and there are significant burrs in the area-- both sand burrs and prickly pear. Good shoes should help.

This was our second stay here. We spent 5 nights here this year and 4 or 5 nights here the same week, one year before.
The camp sites are spacious enough and the ones up against the dunes are the ones we choose as we like the sound of the surf and the access to the beach. Plenty of water spigots to refill the water tank on our trailer and the dump station across the street is not too bad of a walk with our portable tote tank. We like the bike path to "town" and its about 4 miles all on a flat, well paved path. We prefer to bike into town to get anything we need at the well stocked grocery store and to grab some fresh seafood to grill on the grill.
We plan to make this trip to Ocracoke an annual one.

Third year in a row at the same campsite and no complaints other than the usual biting bugs after dark. Excellent campground all around! Only wish the dumpster truck emptying the dumpsters would wait two hours after 6:30 a.m.! Loud bangs aren't pleasant that early in the morning.

This appears to be a very nice location. We arrived after dark so just parked in a common lot area for the night.

I was greeted by the park rangers staying in the Silver Bullet camper! It was dusk upon my arrival and they both helped me set up my tent! What amazing people! It was beautiful clear skies and the stars, planets, and moons could be seen. The waves crashing just beyond the dunes at night was like listening to God telling me a bedtime story. The early morning, ground water temperature, showers were invigorating! I felt so close to what heaven must be like. The mosquitoes were mosquitoes but it didn’t detract from the beauty of this marvelous campground. The bathrooms were clean and convenient. I do plan to return next year!
