Catawba Falls Campground

We loved our stay at Catawba Falls Campground! It’s a peaceful, family-run spot right on a beautiful creek — perfect for relaxing after a day of hiking. The owners clearly care about keeping it quiet, clean, and family-oriented. The on-site coffee shop is a must-try — such a cozy surprise with great drinks and friendly service. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a calm, scenic getaway near the falls.

We only stayed one night here while passing through but it was a great find. The host was very welcoming and friendly. The bathhouse was clean and updated. The stream ran right behind our site. Close to a beautiful hiking trail.

This family owned campground has a friendly and personable feel that you don’t often find. The owners are kind and helpful. The bath house was incredibly clean and well-stocked. Endless hot water!
The campsites are a great size, and back up to the creek - nature’s sound machine. It is located right off of I-40, and less than half a mile from the Catawba Falls Trail Head - a beautiful hike.
One quick.note - Old Fort is a dry town. You can order beer, wine, etc in the restaurants but you cannot purchase it there.

Staff is so nice, they would give you the shirt off their backs if you asked. Try their coffee at the check in desk. Site was clean and running water with electric hook up. Staff checked on us every day to let us know they were closing or going home. Catawba falls trail is in walking distance. Bathroom facilities were exceptionally clean for a camp site and had a password to get in. Would go back mainly cause of cleanliness and the staff.

Family run and they are so super nice and helpful. We had a great time and will return.
