UPDATE: How disappointing that you felt “compelled” to respond. I said nothing in my review that was not a fact from my stay. And I did my best to be honest, while still trying to be considerate. I find it very telling that you didn’t give me a call back prior to my stay, but you did call me immediately after my review. If you don’t want guests opinions, then don’t ask them for a review. You’re right, we did speak on the phone, but the conversation went differently than how you described. I said that I felt bad not leaving a positive review and initially wasn’t going to leave one at all, but then when I got multiple reminders to (via text and via email) I thought maybe it was important. At least that way someone could make any necessary adjustments. I also said over the phone that my grandmother died WHILE I was staying in your cabin, which is why I never called anyone when I was there, because other things were more important. But since I never got a return call before my stay, what would give me any indication that I’d suddenly get a call back during my stay? I also said that I left a day early, to fly back home to be with my daughter for her 1st birthday. I was in the middle of navigating losing someone on one side of the country, and celebrating someone on the other side. A balancing act that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. And you admitted that the windows in the corner have never had any blinds, and that the curtains on the sliding glass door don’t fit or cover the windows completely. You also admitted that you did in fact use to use Fabuloso, and that you didn’t anymore, but that there still might be a few bottles laying around. So, even you agreed with the facts from my review. And let’s not forget that I also thanked you for calling and said that I appreciated you checking, but of course those were never mentioned in your reply. Lastly, I left a 2 star review, not a 1 star like you said, but I will now be changing it. Sadly, because of your response, I will now never stay here again. Good luck with your business, and I hope for your guests sake they never need to call you, or get asked to leave a review.
ORIGINAL: I’ve stayed here with friends before and loved it. this time it was different unfortunately. I called and left a voicemail and never got a call back. The room smelled very heavily of Fabuloso which o personally don’t like. The blinds don’t cover the entirety of the sliding glass doors. There’s windows in the corner that didn’t have any blinds. The kitchen sink faucet was also barely hanging on. Lumpy uncomfortable bed and pillows. Great location, just feels like the cabins need some attention.

Cabin 231 was quite secluded and had a great view. Proximity to brevard is great. Oscar blues and other breweries within reach. Hiking and fly fishing are within a mile. Five stars. We highly recommend and will be back soon.

Had the best few days before Christmas at pilot cove with our dog! The cabin was beautiful and well stocked, clean and Wi-Fi worked perfect. The location is great, just down the hill from countless hikes and convenient to Walmart that’s literally right down the road. If you want to feel like you’re in the woods without actually being IN the woods this place is it!

Pilot Cove is conveniently located in the Pisgah National Forest where countless hiking trails are available within a short distance. Our cabin treehouse-like cabin was spectacular, with views of the forest. It had a wonderful wooden deck to lounge on and take in the beauty of nature. All modern amenities were available - kitchen with all appliances and in room washing machine and dryer. The bed was top-notch comfort similar to a high end resort. A bonus of the location is that it is only 3 miles from downtown Brevard, where we found incredible restaurants including Sora Japanese, The Bohemian and Quixote for dinner and great cafes for breakfast / lunch (Pisgah Bakehouse and Blue Ridge Bakery). We would definitely stay again and again.

Beautiful cabins, each with its own “in the woods” view and feel. All amenities (microwave, toaster, coffee pot, dinnerware), comfortable seating and bedding. Beautiful wood slab dining table.
Location: At the entrance to Pisgah Forest (Looking Glass Falls, Sliding Rock, Cradle of Forestry, Blue Ridge Pkwy). Our 3rd time here. Local tip: Try the Velvet Cup caffe truck by the entry! We’ll be back!
