What Guests Are Saying

Sycamore Flats Picnic Shelter offers a beautiful and clean site with ample space for large gatherings, making it a fun location with easy access to the river. While parking can be limited and some restroom facilities were not fully functional, the overall experience was satisfactory, and visitors expressed a willingness to return. A trash can would enhance the site further.

The shelter was nice and the access to the river was a lot of fun! We had about 35 people there and felt there was more than enough room. Parking gets very limited, so plan to go much earlier and claim some spots. There were other people there when we showed up and we told them we had it reserved. They “claimed” they did too but couldn’t provide their email confirmation. We had ours, showed it to them, and had to ask them to leave. Also, out of 4 bathrooms, only two worked, and one sink. That wasn’t ideal, but it was satisfactory. We would rent it again.

Nice shady spot next to the Davidson River at the Pisgah Forest entrance! Bathrooms are handy and clean. Good grassy area for corn hole or croquet. Prepare to arrive early and bring something to hold your parking spaces as they are not marked and the park fills up fast!

The covered shed is perfect for a family reunion, birthday parties, or just getting together for a picnic. It provides protection from the rain and shade from the sunshine. The kids and the adults love to play in the river and the road around Sycamore Flats is a perfect place to stretch out your legs when you arrive. You are close to Whitewater Falls, Sliding Rock and so much more in the forest. It's a short drive to the Cradle of Forestry or the Blue Ridge Parkway is always a fun adventure.

Of course, reservations are a requirement, and a fee is charged but this ensures your location to the only covered shed there.

The shelter was nice and clean. Close to the restrooms. Huge field to play in. Only downfall is the parking. Bring something to mark off your spots that you have reserved. When it is busy summer months, EVERYONE wants to park there. Overall, will rent again.
