What Guests Are Saying
Sea Mist Campground has faced significant challenges since its management changed, including frequent price increases and a lack of promised improvements. While some amenities like the boat ramp and fishing opportunities have received positive feedback, many guests report dissatisfaction with poor maintenance, unkept facilities, and rising tensions among residents. Overall, while the location offers potential for enjoyment, many recommend seeking alternative campgrounds due to ongoing issues and management concerns.

Stay as far away from this place as you can new York took over trippled prices it's complete false advertisement they have no basketball courts anymore pool has broken pipes this places is a dump they call it improvement yet do nothing I a company miles away thats ignorant that steal your money. They will extra charge your card then say you owe money. Go to Calabash or sunset Beach much better places more honest to. They are now on the second new management do not believe that sign out front.

This use to be a nice place to be in until the park was sold to Phillips LLC out of New York 3 years ago. That’s exactly how long it took them to ruin it. I understand wanting to make a profit but this company is extremely difficult to work with. The first thing they did was to do away with what little security we had. The rules were ignored because there was no longer any one there to enforce them and people started doing whatever they wanted to. The company came in made absolutely no improvements and proceeded to make Brunswick County, the power, WiFi and cable companies so mad to the point they were going to shut services down because issues were not repaired or replaced. The issues are still unresolved. They raised the rent 3 times with the pool ( which needs repairs and no chairs) and being on the intercoastal water way as the only amenities. Most likely will raise the prices again in 2026 to compensate for the people pulling out. The roads are not paved so there is always dust on your cars and campers. They removed the volleyball net and turned down a playground idea for the kids. Currently they are considering removing the basketball court which is the only thing left for the kids to do. The overnight pull through are the highest in the area. They have shown they don’t care about the people or their concerns. They have also succeeded in running off any one who actually cared about the campground and tried to help keep it nice and clean at their own expense. One person even bought a case of dog poop bags for the 2 stations because the company would not replace them in a timely manner. A lot of people are pulling out and going to other campgrounds because of the constant issues with this company. They are renting to some unscrupulous people just to fill those vacant spots. This company loves to say we’re going to do this or that but after 3 years the only thing they have followed through on is going up on the rent. They want to add more sites but one of the area floods like crazy during King tide. Bet they won’t mention that. It does not feel like a safe place any more. If you like drama, gossip and some people riding around looking for things to steal this might be the place for you. If not your better off going to another campgrounds.

Campground is not worth the price. They also played a movie on a big screen but it was set up right behind the overnight spots and was so loud it sounded like we were in the movie even inside our camper with the air conditioner on. Quiet time was suppose to be at 11 but they had the movie going till at least 11:30. They should set the movie up in another spot or make sure it's finished by 11, Definitely won't be staying again.

We stayed at SeaMist Camping Resort (228) from Thursday through Sunday, and honestly, everything was fantastic. This site (228) was spacious but a little uneven (for the beach) on the back making me glad I brought all our blocks. The campground was peaceful, clean, and well-run. The showers and restrooms were clean, although it would be nice if they added a few shelves or holders in the shower area for soap and shampoo.
We also used the laundry facilities, which were clean and modern with $2.50 per load using a credit card, which was super convenient.
One of the biggest highlights was launching our kayaks from the on-site boat ramp. It made things so easy. The fishing was absolutely phenomenal. We crushed it on flounder (even though it's out of season), landing some real monsters using mud minnows and artificial bait. We also hooked into a few solid red drum, and cut bait brought in all the croakers and blues you could want. I even had one nearly spool me, lost it right at the shore after walking the beach, but still a rush!
Bait was plentiful, easy to net shrimp and mud minnows around low tide. We didn’t do much pier fishing ourselves, but everyone we talked to seemed to be having decent luck there too.
Overall, just a great experience. We'll definitely be back.

For anyone looking into a nice campground for their family to enjoy, this is not the place to go. My Family has beenon a permanent spot for over two years, they have raised the rent three times and another one starting in May 2025 with promises of improvements that have never been made. Decks that we have spent thousands of dollars on which were drawn and approved by staff of Seamist campground, which is what we were told to do. We are now being told have to be taken off the campers or we have to go to the county to get a permit —these decks have been up for a long time. If that was the county ordinance it should’ve been done in the beginning or they should’ve done it as our plans were turned into the Seamist office. Promised 50 amp breakers for over a year and nothing has been done, pool area not very clean no Chairs to sit in, and you are not allowed floats in the Pool. The dirt road continues to have huge potholes which they have promised to fix, And the Wi-Fi is horrible unless you are located close to the office which we have been told would be fixed with a wider broadband over a year. Park is also over Ran by cats. They just keep breeding and nothing has been done about it. Your trash gets destroyed they get up in your camper not to mention you can’t take your dogs because all they do is bark at all the cats running around free. Due to all the circumstances, we will be leaving the campground to a better place. The reasoning for my review is so that anyone knows what is really going on before they sign A lease in a place that has went downhill over the last year dramatically not to mention the treatment the tenants have received. Thank you all.
