What Guests Are Saying
Bandits Roost campground offers beautiful lake views, clean and well-maintained facilities, and spacious sites, making it a popular choice for campers. Guests appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the peaceful and quiet atmosphere. However, some areas, including the bathhouses and fire pits, require updates and maintenance, and there are occasional issues with the entrance gate and site cleanliness between campers. Overall, it remains a beloved destination for many.

We spent 3 nights at this campground and would have stayed longer if the site was available. The site was level, clean and well maintained. We had a lovely view of the reservoir. However, one must be careful when selecting a site in this campground. Many of the sites are extremely close together. The campground is on a hillside and the sites are terraced. Your picnic table and firepit may be several stairs down from your parking pad putting them behind the parking pad of the adjacent site. We have a self contained unit and did not use any of the facilities so I can’t comment on those. There is a town nearby that was convenient for groceries and restaurants. We also found a lovely bike path along the Yadkin River. The reservoir looked great for boating of any kind and we saw lots of fisherman so, apparently, it’s good fishing.

Bandits Roust is a great place to stay. Quite, lake access, spacious sites. It rained every day we were there, but we needed it. Very clean sites. Would love to revisit. All sites in A loop good. Watch out for picnic table down steps in not wanting to walk far, but great if kids helpful.

I stay at Bandit's Roost several times each year. We love camping there. The sites are shaded and well maintained. Lots of trails for hiking and the lake is great in the summer months.

Site was very easy to get into. But the picnic / usage area for this site was full of dead leaves. But I had a leave blower with me and cleared it off. Bath House was clean. We would camp here again

We love Bandit's Roost Campground! 15 A was more level than 16 A, which was our original reservation that we changed. You could still see the water a bit. It's a great loop to stay in! (17A is perfectly situated with a view of the water. Grab it if you can.) We changed to 73 B when we extended our stay and although it doesn't have the same water views, there's a greater sense of community there, which we preferred. We would choose B over A when staying again. It was easy to walk our dogs in either spot. The camp hosts were friendly, too!
