This campground is so close to the Interstate. I thought traffic would die down at night…not so much. The showers, while thoughtful, had not been cleaned in awhile, every surface was covered in spider webs, spiders and ticks. Two of the four toilets were locked closed. Don’t bother to reserve a site. The sites in the National Park are better and they don’t charge a reservation fee. The only sites that are available for reservation at Buffalo Gap are probably the least desirable sites. We were there over Memorial Day weekend and there were plenty of open campsites.
On the plus side, the accessibility to the Buffalo Gap trail was great.

It would be nice if the sites that were reservation only were better marked. We arrived and there was a RV and a tent in the unit we had pre-paid. There was no ranger or campground host on the premises. We didn't want to just move to someone else's site or stay in the day use area without "permission" so we moved into the "Host" site, hung up a paper plate sign on the post that noted we were not the Host, but explained what had happened and figured that if the host arrived, they could give us direction.
The campground on the other hand, seemed nice and well tended. We do hope to return someday to hike some of the trails. The bathrooms were clean and the sites were roomy. The rating would definitely been higher if there had been someone there in some kind of authority.

Great proximity to Theodore Roosevelt National Park! We camped off-season in the spring. The electricity was turned on but the water was not. Site is close to the freeway, but the hill in between blocked the vehicle noise quite well.

Nice campground with some trees. Very quiet and very few campers here. Great camp hosts. Bath house and showers were nice. It is a ways from the park though. Would probably stay at the campground in the park if we visit again.

Lovely small campground. We were up at the top of the Mannan? loop. Good spacing and shrubs between many of the sites. We enjoyed one trail through the grasslands around the lake. Saw quite a few prairie dogs

Beautiful, quiet campground in the National Grassland and near Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Water available, hot showers were a treat, and a dump station. Sites had asphalt pads some level, some were slightly uphill. Campground is close to the highway so convenient stopover with slight highway noise. Nice hiking or biking trail from the campground.

Great campground. A little noisy along the interstate at those sites but otherwise wonderful.

Nice campground. Wasn't overly busy. Water was out the final day due to well issues which are apparently regular but didn't impact our stay. Relatively flat sites.

We had the perfect site protected and in the trees, but it was not the site we reserved. The picture for the one we-reserved showed that, but it was actually in the open on the side of a very windy hill. Picture and site number did not match
