What Guests Are Saying
Cottonwood Campground offers a beautiful and peaceful experience with spacious, well-maintained sites and clean facilities. Many visitors enjoyed the close encounters with bison and the serene natural surroundings, making it a great spot for wildlife enthusiasts. While some noted issues with insects and site leveling, the overall atmosphere and friendly camp hosts contributed to a memorable stay.

The campground was nicer than we expected it to be, with trees around most sites and nice bathroom facilities.
Sites 3 and 4 in the North Loop are right along the entry road and are much less desirable than the others.
The campground is right on the Scenic Drive, so it's easy to get out to see the sights.

We stayed at Site 53 right next to the river and loved every morning and evening watching all the different animals that visited to get a drink of water. Great site that was peaceful and quiet, with plenty of shade in the evening. We saw plenty of bison everyday, and a group of horses even came to the river with their foal. We cannot wait to come back and stay longer than two nights.

It was a very nature experience. There are no hook-ups, so be sure that your batteries and such are able to keep your RV going! Overall a very enjoyable park.

We stayed in site 18 with a 26 foot trailer and truck. It was long enough, but you had to disconnect and put the truck behind the trailer for it to lineup. There was water available close by. It was shady and there’s a way to hike down to the river, but it’s not a dedicated path.
