Located five miles (8 km) from the entrance to the South Unit of the park, the campground is open year-round. Really solid campground with little trails down to the river and plenty of bison nearby. Bathrooms were super clean and the site had plenty of room to set up in a couple different spots

Cottonwood Campground doesn't offer any hookups for RV camping, but it provides an opportunity to experience the beauty and wildlife of Theodore Roosevelt National Park.

We had a pack of bison feed their way right through our campsite with a repeat visit the next day.

My only complaint is the lack of a dump station within the campground.

Had a beautiful riverfront campsite. Access to water and a dump station was a huge plus. Bison were meandering around the campground, a pus in my book. Very helpful camp host.
