Located five miles (8 km) from the entrance to the South Unit of the park, the campground is open year-round. The sites were okay, but the lack of facilities was disappointing. No showers or laundry. If it is hot you have no water to swim in to cool off. A lot of the trails were closed due to high water (ironic, I know) so going on a hike ended up with a lot of dead-ends. The line to get into the park was extremely difficult at times.

Very beautiful, quiet, and peaceful campground! The sites are well spaced and feel private. The facilities are very clean, perhaps the nicest I've ever seen in a campground, and easily accessible from all sites.

Nice, simple campground. A lot of sites in the "pull-through" loop are right next to the road which is not ideal, but plenty of space otherwise. Good location. Nice bathroom.

We walked the nearby Jones Creek Trail and saw wild horses and a bison walking on the trail. We gave him space. We also went to the Medora Musical and Pitchfork fondue dinner. Both were amazing. It’s about 5 miles to the Visitors Center which you drive past on the way to the campground. At first we weren’t sure how to get to the campground.
