I love this lake! I stay in a primitive site when I come here. The sites are maintained for the most part. However, firewood is no longer provided! And you can't bring your own!!...HMMMM. How do you have a CAMP FIRE WITH NO WOOD??!! I'm very DISSAPOINTED AGAIN THIS YEAR!. I've been coming here for the past 8 years. Thinking of going to Romanose from now on!

We stayed at the Big Bend area and have stayed at the at Canadian area as well. The park always looks so nice and please pass this onto those involved in the efforts. A+++++

We had a very pleasant stay. There was plenty of shade and excess to the water was near by. We had a very nice time.

My only complaint is that site A31 needs a cover over the table other than that, very nice site and beautiful view of the lake the bathroom was very nice. A great place to escape for a weekend or longer I will be back.

A13 had nice shade - especially in the afternoon. Sites have covered picnic table fire ring & grill.
Bathroom/showers are dated and did not get hot. Shower house is not nice at all. Odd layout and dirty the week we were there. Beautiful views of lake. New disc golf course. Most sites have shade trees in the B loop and many in the A loop. Fish for sand bass, crappie, catfish & hybrids. November of each year you can boondock for free, all services are turned off.

Canadian is nice but the grass burrs drove us to Big Bend. Love the trees and the fact we can walk through the grass with our dog and not seem like a bed of nails. Sites are large and well spaced and views of the lake are great. 99% of campers respect the calm it down after 10 rule. Not a knock on the campground because they are great, but to the people that want to blast loud music and comedy channels to 3am: I like that too sometimes but get a hayfield bonfire instead of a campsite.

Big Bend Recreation Area is accessible via HWY 51, which connects to Canton, OK.
Elevation: 510 feet

Policies & Rules
General
- There are no sewer site hookups at this campground
- 2-night minimum required during the annual Walleye Rodeo (Thursday-Sunday the week after Mother's Day)
- Maximum of two tents per campsite, or one RV and one tent per campsite
- Pets are not allowed at the Sandy Cove beach day-use area
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
- Gate House hours: April 1-30 & Tuesday following Labor Day to September 30 - ; May 1 to Labor Day - .
- Fees are collected by self-payment through Recreation.gov in October. Shower houses may be winterized and closed in late October.
- Electricity and/or water may be turned off November through March. No charge for camping during this time.
