What Guests Are Saying
Belle Starr Campground is praised for its cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a top choice for campers. Many visitors enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, beautiful lake views, and spacious pull-through sites, with ample wildlife to observe. Some concerns include limited restroom availability during off-peak months and the presence of stickers in the area, but overall, guests express a strong desire to return.

We love staying at Belle Starr. Nice spot we stayed at. The only bad thing I would say is the threads on the water hook up for the RV wash out are messed up and have been for a while so be prepared to get wet.

We love the campground the trees and everything are really nice but the sand sticker Burrs are out of control. could not even step out of our RV door without stepping on sticker burrs and to walk down the bank was impossible With our puppy, the sticker birrs stick to your feet to your shoes and to their little paws. Canceled our trip in April because of the sticker burrs.

We stayed a glorious 8 days at Belle Starr part in E14 (20-23 October) then moved to E13 (23-28 October) due to E14 was already reserved through the time we wanted to stay. They are both excellent spots and didn’t take much to move over. I love Fall camping because usually not many people during the week. We did have a day and half of rain but even that was enjoyable snuggling with my honey. Go lots of fishing in even tho the lake is really low due to barely any rain, family came on Saturday shared a great meal and had a great visit. This was are second season staying at Belle Starr and always love the Spring and Fall camping the best. Seems like the neighbors were more noisy (after 10 pm into 1-2 AM) this year during the hotter months. However, we survived and will be back.

The approach to the site was a small challenge but ended up being a great setup. Having our slide to the lake side gave us a protected entrance from the wind and a beautiful view when in the trailer. Wind was insane. Thoroughly enjoyed the sound of the waves on the shore, being able to walk on the beach, seeing the deer and raccoon tracks in the sand. Wasn’t as isolated as I was expecting, Checote was a very short drive and provided a great coffee shop.

Camped in the West Loop in a 43’ Motorcoach. Lovely setting, herd of deer daily, beautiful sunsets over the lake. Electric and water hook ups. Bathhouses not to far away, clean. Narrow gate to enter and exit the campground.
