What Guests Are Saying
Belle Starr Campground is praised for its cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a top choice for campers. Many visitors enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, beautiful lake views, and spacious pull-through sites, with ample wildlife to observe. Some concerns include limited restroom availability during off-peak months and the presence of stickers in the area, but overall, guests express a strong desire to return.

Park was nice, bathrooms need work. Seriously need to spray for ticks.

I would like give the Cons with our solutions, and the Pros. Everyone is a little different and each person has their own likes and dislikes. Always look at the bright side and enjoy the trip no matter what!
Cons: Rough road to campground. (drive slowly) (write to the city?)
Spot E5 is very tight for an RV, right in between two trees (use walkie talkies and use caution)
Water hookup is far and it's shared (bring a long hose and a faucet splitter)
Bathroom at East side, near campsite E5, was old and in pretty bad shape... (use bathroom on the West side near campsite W14-W17 which were in tip top shape!)
HUGE POT HOLE on the road exiting the campgrounds (WATCH OUT! EXPECT IT, GO AROUND IT!)
That's it! Not too bad.
Pros. E5 has lots of space between campsites, pretty well level. We had plenty of shade because of the trees right next to our RV. The playground is right across the street, and you can walk towards the lake which has a shallow place where the kids can play on the sand and get on the water. The host at the entrance were polite.
We really enjoyed our stay.

the swim beach area in the west camping site was very small. there was one nice swim area we drove to to use. the camp sites were a little to close to each other and the bathroom/showers were not kept up with, many ran without toilet paper. The play ground sites were nice and some pretty new though!

We had a wonderful time at Belle Starr. The park is well kept and bathrooms and showers were in working order. They have improved several sites and pad was level and picnic table area was new. Will be returning again soon.
