Belle Starr Campground is praised for its cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a top choice for campers. Many visitors enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, beautiful lake views, and spacious pull-through sites, with ample wildlife to observe. Our campsite was C061, pull through, level pad, shaded, large picnic table, deep firepit (overhanging limbs need trimming) with a large concrete patio area. Belle Starr is one of our favorite camping areas and we will definitely go again.

We loved this campground. The only way it could have been better was if there were dedicated hiking trails. Amazing experience! We will revisit!

We had a great stay. It was great that the sites are spread out. Facility was in very good condition.

Belle Starr is a reasonably maintained campground. Sites are well spaced out. Stayed in W16, an older site. Narrow blacktop site just a little wider than our 5th wheel but nice and long. Good shade but position of trees make pull in and out a little difficult without maneuvering. Very sandy with little grass. Good view of the lake. Many of the better, more modern sites with concrete standings are shown as handicap accessible and you are requested to choose other sites if possible. Don't think everyone adheres to this policy.

Nice camping area. Close to the water. Not to cramped feeling with others camping around us. Major draw back was SAND BURRS. There everywhere. Will not return do to this issue. Camper beware.

Our review is based on a pull-thru site, #3 at Belle Starr. The entrance was washed out--alot of the asphalt was gone & made it hard for entry & leveling. We stayed overnight and there was no issues with power/electric. We LOVE the Corp of Engineer Parks. We will give it a try again. Some of the other sights looked good. Sorry--for the review, again we will try the park again.

I chose our site online having never visited this park. The site pavement was in pretty poor shape and made it somewhat hard to level. There were some low hanging limbs which did not affect our trailer but might for a tall rig? The park was nice and I made notes of “ better” site choices. There were some in worse shape than ours, especially along the lakefront. The water spigots were shared by two sites at many of the sites and we had to use all three water hoses we had and add a splitter. We had a roomy site right on the water, and overall we enjoyed our stay. Park was full on the weekend but pretty empty by Monday. Nice looking beaches, a couple of playgrounds and group picnic shelters.
The signage entering the park could have been better. Or perhaps I should have studied the online map better before we arrived? W= West Loop, C= Central, E= East. C loop seemed to have the best sites.
I love ACOE parks!
