Our camping spot was very level with a big area for the kids to play. The restrooms and bath house were clean. There was a drunkin lady that showed up at the campsite but the ranger kept a close eye on things. Not as many water hydrants but it worked. We had a super time. Thanks you to the hosts!

Campground seemed nice though we were just staying overnight on a through-road trip. Stars were beautiful at night and think we were the only ones there. In the AM (5?) was a very large loud truck driving around and around and around at our site and got a bit concerning after about 10 mins since it was remote and were the only ones there. We got out and it drove off. Was not the ranger/campground vehicle. Packed up and got out quickly.
Nice quiet spot and likely a great location to scout migratory birds (saw many snow geese stopping over in the AM).

Was clean and a decent stay. Spaces are on top of each other. Some spots very difficult to park in. Water isn't shared. Water spickets thruout the campground. Was told if I have jugs go to the day use and get Water. I'm in a 5th wheel and should t have to tote. Off season is nice and quiet and lady at entrance was very nice. Gate attendant was very nice. I would stay again but different spot and just make sure I get Water before coming in or make sure off season so we can get to the water.

Lady at the front check in was Amazing.
The reason for a 4 star is there is water thru out the park. However, people ran hoses and we were told to use jugs and drive around and find a free water source. We could NOT ask them to let us borrow water for a little bit. Very frustrating. Then a man got mad that people ran over and broke his hose.
Everything else was great.
Caution..... if you have a bigger rig #1 is hard to get into!

It seems like when the hosts are away the upkeep of the restrooms is not done as much. Whomever fills in for the camp hosts does not take care of things as good as the hosts did.

As always the campgrounds were beautiful. The fish just was not biting. If they had been I would of stayed longer.

Nice park, water only in the middle spots, bring extra water hose.
Camp hosts were great.
Thank you!!!

While the view was fantastic....the entitlement, lack of consideration and invasion of site privacy was out of control! Like other campers reserving a site, I chose this site for my own personal reasons. I saw no disclosure on rec.gov of any issues with this particular site to veer me away from it. Little did I know that the "path" directly behind where you park, was/is, grand central station for folks to use to get down to the lake for fishing. And I mean, grand central station. Anyone and everyone simply trampled through disrupting our personal space, disrupting our dogs, with absolutely no regard that we had PAID for the use of this site. In no way did I think I was paying for us to use this site, along with multiple others whenever they chose to walk through.
The Army Corp of Engineers should know better, as the volunteer "hosts" can/will do nothing. This particular site should be part of the day use area, period. I was informed, by the host, that folks are allowed to park in that site, and any other site, unless occupied by another camper who reserved it. They used to not allow it, which is the way its supposed to be, that is why there is a designated 'day use' area, but got tired of asking folks to move on. Well, once you begin allowing folks to do something they are not supposed to be doing, it's very difficult to go back and enforce the original rule in midstream. One host had the audacity to ask me, " what is the harm?" Seriously?!! Because I PAID for the site, for my little piece of personal space, peace and quiet! There was no apology for the inconvenience, just excuses for the one fisherman that started the problem when asked not to walk right next to our camper. We were asked if we wanted to move, why should I? This path is NOT the only way down to the water, just the most convenient.
I ended up telling them their hosting skills suck, which they do. They need better training, rules need to be followed, by EVERYONE, and consideration needs to be used.

Spencer Creek was the nicest campground we have ever stayed at. The bathrooms were always clean. The campground was quiet until the weekend which started Friday night. Campsites were convenient. We especially liked the roofs over the generously sized picnic tables. These shelters were only on a few sites.
