What Guests Are Saying
Hawthorn Bluff offers a peaceful camping experience with beautiful lake views, well-maintained trails, and clean facilities, making it a popular choice for families and groups. While some RV sites are not level and certain amenities like hot water and flushing toilets experienced issues, the friendly staff and clean environment contribute positively to visitors' experiences. Overall, guests appreciate the campground's serene atmosphere and accessibility to nearby attractions, despite occasional maintenance concerns.

Normally this is our go to place but this year there was never anyone on the gate in April. Also no lights or hot water in the showers for a few days. The campground opened on a Wednesday but no hot water until the weekend.

The RV sites are not level. Some are manageable but site 24 is not. I used all our leveling blocks and was unable to level the motorhome sufficient for use the site. We abandoned the site and were unable to utilize our reservation or access anyone to change sites or get some refund of our fees.

We love camping here. Close to home and always a good time! Just an FYI on site 64, lots of trees on both sides and across the street from camp driveway, so a little tricky to back into, and then we couldn't open our slide due to the trees proximity. It does have a nice lake view though.

I take a Tulsa boy scout troop here 1 or 2 times a year and usually have a very good experience. Good fishing spots in the campground and good hiking trails close by. Camp sites are clean and spaced out. Hard to find campfire fuel because the grounds are kept very clean.
The negative this trip was the toilet facilities. There are two 2-stall pit toilets near by and are usually clean and well stocked. This time one of the two was locked up and the other was filthy, both men and women side. No one attended to them the two days we were there. We cleaned them and luckily had our own TP (a scout is prepared!). And since there was a water main break somewhere off site, we couldn't use the running water toilet further up the street.

Showers & flushing toilets weren’t open. Gaul toilets had no toilet paper and had bags of trash laying in them.

It’s close to Will Rogers museum and the house he was raised in. Nice boat launch and swimming beach.
