We have gone to Washington Irving for many years. Always enjoyed being there. As a group, our Elks Lodge, went over two weeks before opening each year. We cleaned the grounds, painted tables and trimmed trees as needed. There between 10 and 14 campers there, that was several years ago. My husband and I camped there for many years after, he has been gone now for over six years. Now my two sons have trailers and they take me over there now. I miss the host there very much, it just feels more safe. There is more night activity moving from outside at night than used to be. It is very clean and inviting, plan to visit there for as long as we can.

I was forced to pay for Saturday night due to a minor holiday. I was told I could apply for a refund but couldn’t do it. Not right

We love camping at Washington Irving South. It is always pleasant and the bathrooms are always clean. We had a minor issue that we contacted the camp host, he contacted the rangers, and in a matter of an hour, the issue was taken care of. Everyone involved was professional and more than ready to help. All of the rangers that we saw driving through always waved and were more than ready to help if we needed anything. We'll definitely be back. Camp site #20 is the best. It's by itself and you have a direct view of the water.

Great camping spot. Great for RVs or just for pitching tents. Theres a fire pit and small bbq pit for cooking just bring your own coals or wood. The campground is clean and the fishing is great. Just be aware that the water tends to flow to the west so when casting out it runs your bait back toward the bank. Other than that there’s a small beach area for dimming and a nice cove to walk down to fish. Common fish here is catfish bass and crappie near boat dock. You cannot fish on boat dock but we love the campground to drop in kayaks. Enjoy!
