Site was sloped too much for a motorhome. Used all the leveling blocks i had and still couldn't level. Web site said nothing about slop. Otherwise the park was nice and well kept.

Washington Irving South is a beloved camping destination known for its beautiful and clean environment, well-stocked bathrooms, and friendly park rangers. Many visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, great fishing opportunities, and various amenities like hiking trails and a boat ramp. However, some guests have raised concerns about reservation policies and the maintenance of certain facilities, including the cleanliness of the bathrooms and issues with water supply at tent sites. I believe that if you bring your pet with you that you should make it be quiet early in the morning. since some people probably sleeping late.

We had a great time! The park was clean. Our neighbors were respectful. There were nice fire rings with grills. Restrooms were clean. I had never camped with electricity before, that was nice to run a heater. We enjoyed a nice hike around the water.

If you’re in a tent don’t stay at the end spots of the circle. You’ll be blinded by lights they have pointed at you all night. If you’re in an RV you’ll be just fine. One of the bathroom doors on the right is finicky and you have to mess with it to have it shut correctly.

Having stayed here in the past we were looking forward to another visit. Unfortunately our site #6 was on such an angle we could not put enough support blocks under our tires to level the rv. It was also littered with small pieces of trash and the surface was very fine sand “dust”.
Sites 7 and up are on the top side of the campground and in good shape, that’s where we were last time. Sites 6 and lower are on the lower end and need desperate attention. Bathrooms seem to have been moved from an old federal prison and need to be refurbished, we had our own in the rv so they weren’t a problem for us.
