Arrived early because the website showed our site was not reserved. The gate attendant was very upset because of our early arrival. I said, "We can go back home and come later." That didn't set very well so to avoid things that did not need to be said we went on to our site and occupied it. Not sure if we will return.

Gentry Creek was a quiet. There was plenty of spots for camping and since we chose a more primative one, we were secluded except for the boats that came and went. The host patroled the area several times and was friendly and helpful. Fire pit and picnic table and campsite were clean.

Lots of bugs but that’s camping. Enjoyed the weekend, ran into a few critters at night but it added to the wilderness feel which I don’t mind cause I intended to get away from the city life. The campground has a playground and a shower house. It also has a fishing pond for kids. So, a very family friendly campground I would recommend for anyone considering this place. Lake Eufala is a very beautiful lake.

Beautiful campsite on the lake front. The fire pit was overflowing with ashes, but overall it was a wonderful spot.

Lost power twice , had to call power company myself because gate host assumed that with they’re location that someone else would have called them first, this was six o-clock in the morning…. Power company hadn’t received any notification that their was an issue.

The site was super clean and well cared for. There were a few trees that made it difficult to get to our spot. I would suggest that at least 3 trees on the hill need to be removed before the next season so that others don’t have issues like that.
Also, our site hosts are the best hosts we have ever had at gentry creek. They are kind and take good care of us when we come for our twice a year reunions! A big thanks to them for putting up with all of us!

We had a good spot. However, It's a very outdated campground- even the electrical post and water spigot is on the opposite side of your rig. The water spigot was "shared", yet only one spigot. Luckily the other camper had a valve, because this park "doesn't furnish anything like that". Not to mention the water spigot took 2) 50' hoses to reach from my rig. People there were extremely loud. The lake had a funky smell to it. Boring park. We won't be back.

Once you have reserved and are occupying your campsite, if a Gate Attendant is on duty (Thursday - Monday 10AM to 10PM), please take the time to check-in with them, otherwise a volunteer will check you in during their daily patrol of the campground. Thank you. |
