have been there 5 times and enjoyed all but one trip, kids keep running through our site #26 but love site #28 we try to reserve the site as soon as we get home and have found that the weekdays are a lot better.

This place was beautiful! The people who run it do an amazing job of being helpful and so friendly! We will go back again for sure! If we could give it 10 stars we would!

The gate attendant was a wonderful lady! She realized we picked a bad spot to camp due to rising lake level and suggested a safer and actually quieter site that we now want to book every time we come back. Now the bad part about our stay and the reason I gave 3 out of 5 stars was the condition of the pit-vault toilets. Both vault toilets were nasty! In one of them someone had pooped in the urinal and it was never removed. The toilet itself was splattered with feces right up to the seat level. There were people driving around the park frequently with little trucks holding placards that read “VOLUNTEERS “ but they never cleaned the toilets! I must admit I don’t know what their job description entails and maybe bathroom cleaning is not their responsibility, I don’t know but the condition of the toilets was a big downer for us. We opted to drive back to the main area of the camp ground and use the flush toilets which was a bit of an inconvenience.

FYI, the area beside site 3 is used for lake access. We had people constantly around our site at all hours, some even cutting through with vehicles. The camp host informed us it is allowed when we checked in. Sites on the other side looked nice though. Bathrooms were awful….we had to use our own portable one.

Very peaceful! Clean. We enjoyed our stay here.. NO SEWER DRAIN @your personal site.. water and electric… need long water hose.. there is of course sewage stations..
staff was very polite.. provided wood for us one night.. great camping fire.. roads are narrow for RV. Needs a bit attention..overall it’s a B-.

Once you have reserved and are occupying your campsite, if a Gate Attendant is on duty (Thursday - Monday 10AM to 10PM), please take the time to check-in with them, otherwise a volunteer will check you in during their daily patrol of the campground. Thank you. |
