What Guests Are Saying
Chicken Creek offers a beautiful camping experience with stunning lake views, peaceful surroundings, and well-maintained campsites. Many visitors appreciate the friendly staff and volunteers, as well as the easy access to water and nearby amenities. However, some concerns were raised about the condition of the facilities, including overgrown grass, restroom maintenance issues, and low tree limbs that could damage taller campers. Overall, guests have enjoyed their stays and express a desire to return despite the noted drawbacks.

Is a very nice location and well cared for except one of the shower houses is not operational.

Great Lake for boating. The area is beautiful and there’s several marinas and places to eat on the lake or nearby. If you’re adventurous you can jump from the cliffs!

I stay here alot. The attendants at the gate are amazing. Darlene and Gary are amazing and so are the other 2 that run the place. Park is clean and kept up! Would highly recommend this place!

We love this park. But when we checked in the grass was over 2-3 feet tall, was several days before the mowers came and didn't do a good job after being there. The amount of golf carts allowed to be in the park,(with small kids driving them), was way out of control. Loud music way pass 2am. The amount of cars with no boat trailers parked at boat ramp made it very hard to park your truck with a boat trailer. Over all we enjoyed the 14 day stay with all 11 camp sites being taken with family.

camp site were slightly maintained. it did rain during my stay and water drained into the campsite. showers were not working, no signs posted saying they were out of service. quiet hours were not enforced. still would be staying again. access to water was easy to get to.

We have stayed here twice and love it!! The sites are so pretty. Lots of shade (if you don’t stay in the newer sites on the water). Absolutely perfect! Only thing is the bathrooms are not kept up well at all. They were not even close to clean and were out of TP most of our stay.

We have been camping there for over 20 years. Showers did not work and bathrooms
were not kept clean. Disappointed in condition of campground.

Great experience but the actual reservation.gov site is in need of an overhaul. Many times campsites are booked but never used leaving the rest of us unable to get a campsite. If someone fails to cancel a reservation or simply not show up, why are these campsites not released to be booked by someone else. I've been told that people will book weekends for the entire season and maybe show up once. How about penalizing those who don't cancel by not allowing them to book for 3 months or something. I've had to move out of campsites that were apparently booked but no one ever showed up....now that's frustrating! Other than the booking process all is good!
