Chicken Creek

The gate workers and the grounds keeper were amazing. The company that services the trash and grass are not so good, the grass was knee high at our camper and the trash was over flowing in the dumpsters during the week of Juky 4th.

Continued to not be impressed by this park. Trash service is absent, trash flowing everywhere. Grass rarely cut and out of control. Not the park it used to be. Trees need trimmed on the drive paths and the campsites. Nothing like backing in and having to climb up on your camper and trim trees yourself. Not sure what the camp fees go toward, because the skin of this park is rough. Convenience is the only reason I continue to stay here. I stay at parks all over the country and this is the worst one to date.

Grass was not mowed and the trash dumpster had not been emptied. They were piled up so high that trash was piled up on the ground around them.

It’s a nice camp ground but the grass is always overgrown.

we were in spot 100 which is great for a lake view. however the water was higher than usual and the wind was blowing it in more. we were afraid the spot would flood. we were given choices of open spots for the rest of the stay and allowed to move without any problems or extra cost.

We all had a blast there

We had to share water with the site next to us and we didn’t expect that. We had to get a water splitter so we could both have water. The site was pretty and we loved being right on the water. Sites are pretty close together. Not many trees to hang lights from, etc. The one main concern we had was that we didn’t like them locking the entrance gates at 10pm and not opening back up until 6 am. I feel that’s a safety concern and it puts a time limit on being able to go out to eat and enjoy the community because you get locked out and there’s no one to call to let you in. Also, our spot was a ways away from the front. How can emergency services get there if needed? That alone has deterred us from probably staying there again.

Had a couple of issues but overall I would stay here again. Camp host was nice and helpful. There’s a restaurant and supply store right outside the park. The water view is very nice. Only issues we had was our camp site was listed as water hookup but it didn’t have one. Second issue was the people next to us had a boat and seadoo and the kept parking their trailers in front of our pull through exit partially blocking us.

The park needed to be mowed and there was stickers at the campsite that was not enjoyable for kids to play in the grass.

The campgrounds were clean and well kept. We also enjoyed visiting with the campground host who brought his dog over to play frisbee with my grandsons. The park definitely needs upgraded bathrooms. There was only one that provided hot water for showers and toilets that were not porta- potties or out of order. There also needs to be more lights near the bathrooms. Taking my grandsons after dark was a scary adventure. They still enjoy tent camping so bathhouse facilities are important amenities when we are looking for new places to visit. Overall, it was a lovely park. We saw lots a deer roaming, especially as the sun was setting. The water was spectacular and the boys had a great time.
